Dance Elite – Local Business Spotlight
Dance Elite, located in Kendall, opened in 2007 and has become a force to be reckoned with throughout the dance community. Artistic Director, Daniela Boada-Chavarriaga, has created a curriculum based on her 20+ years of dance and gymnastic experience which helps build confidence and develop a love for dance and artistic expression in her students. Dee, as she is known to all her students, has created a warm, friendly, family-oriented environment without compromising the intense training and discipline necessary to create an award-winning dancer.
Dance Elite offers classes for children ages 2 and up. Students ages 2-5 are instructed by one teacher and one assistant, and students over the age of 5 benefit from small class sizes and qualified, experienced teachers. Having a degree in Elementary Education, as well as the experience of being a 2nd grade teacher, Daniela has a keen understanding of how to deal with children, and she has assembled a highly qualified staff at Dance Elite. Dance Elite offers classes in acro, jazz, ballet, belly dance, hip hop, flamenco, latin dance and tap. For their toddlers, they have the Little Steps program, as well as pre-dance for children ages 3-5.
Qualified dancers are able to audition for Dance Elite’s competition team between the ages of 5 and 17. Dance Elite’s competition team travels to different competitions throughout the season, and they have won various awards and titles. They truly are a talented group of dancers!!
All dancers are invited and encouraged to participate in Dance Elite’s winter recital in December, and the end of the year recital in June. Recitals are held at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium. They put on beautiful shows to showcase their dancers and what they have learned throughout the year for family members to see. It’s amazing to see how much a child can grow and develop in just 10 months, and the skills they master in that time.
From the moment you walk into Dance Elite, you feel like part of the family. Dee is always quick to offer a smile and a hug, and she has developed a relationship with each of the dancers at the studio. The front desk staff are always friendly, and they know each child by name. Parents are provided with a calendar of events from the beginning of the year, and Dance Elite uses an online parent portal to make managing your account extremely easy.
