Invitations and Party Favors – Via Wendy Paperie

Wendy Fortune, of Via Wendy Paperie, is working hard at keeping party hosts and hostesses in South Florida on track with their party themes by creating invitations, announcements and favors for their special event.  From brides to moms and everything in between, Via Wendy Paperie may very well become your best friend.  We had a chance to speak with Wendy, and would love for you to read our interview with her and learn a little bit more about her and her business.

ISF:      Where are you located?
VWP:    Coral Springs

ISF:      How long have you been in business?
VWP:    2 years

ISF:      Tell us a little about your background?
VWP:    I am a wife and mother of two sons, which are budding lacrosse players. I enjoy traveling, shopping, and attending sporting events.

ISF:      What motivated you to start this business?
VWP:    I love being able to show my creativity through designs and ideas for weddings and events.

ISF:       How did you get into your profession?
VWP:    For years, my mom would draft me to do designs and print work for her women’s organizations. Someone mentioned to her that I had a unique style and that I should make it a business. Currently working full time as a Web Application Developer, I didn’t think I’d have the time. So, I decided to try it part time since I’m already a night owl! Two years later, I’m still part time, but thankfully I have my family and friends, aka the VDubs, assisting me!

ISF:       Tell us a little bit about what Via Wendy Paperie is about:
VWP:    Via Wendy Paperie is the premier boutique for custom invitations, announcements, and favors for special events. We make sure that the job is completed from beginning to end and that our clients are happy with the quality of our work.

ISF:      What are you best known for and why?
VWP:    I’m best known for my wedding invitations and favors because I customize them to appropriately match the event.

ISF:      What do you like best about your job?
VWP:    Although I develop Web Applications by day, I love transforming into Via Wendy, my alter ego, after 5pm, in which I can truly let my creative juices run wild!

ISF:      What sets your business aside from others in the South Florida market?
VWP:    My business is unique because I personally have my hand in all aspects of the design process. I am always available to my clients to ensure the products are to their liking.

ISF:      Why should a consumer choose your business – what benefit do they receive for doing business with you?
VWP:    Choosing Via Wendy Paperie will be a win-win situation for both me and the client because they want to have their needs fulfilled and I take pride in being the one to make that happen.

ISF:      What keeps your customers coming back?
VWP:    I have repeat customers because I stay in contact with them. They get excited to see what designs I can come up with!

ISF:      What geographic region do you serve?
VWP:    Dade, Broward and Palm Beach – hoping to expand in the future.

ISF:       Do you have an anecdote about the business that summarizes what you are all about?
WP:    Well, I had to taste test about 7 different truffles for one of my brides, so I had to take the calories for her so she can fit into her wedding dress!

ISF:      What about your business makes you the most proud?
VWP:    I’m proud to have a business that is profitable and enjoyable at the same time.  I am here for my clients and will not rest until they’re smile is as big as mine!
